"A child's heart and imagination are a gift that I wish all could have and to keep for as long as the days are numbered, and then some. But we lose so much as we grow older, but the secret is to regain it with a harness of laughter. For I believe laughter can and does heal the sick and all forms of heart ache." Dorissa in Canada
All of a sudden, I'm on a web page. A sixty-five year old (Earth years) witch!
The Great Mother could very well be a programmer and we're all computer generated.
My web page will include thoughts about the Craft from my own experiences and observations.
Initially, here are a few.
What is real?
Are we who and what we think we are?
Are we truly perceiving, or, are we perceiving the truth?
Are we so busy looking, we've forgotten how to see?
For now, just one more question, please. Do I have your attention?

When you first decided to investigate the Craft, was your reason because:
I like to wear black.
"Color (is the) visual effect resulting from the eye's ability to distinguish the different wavelengths or frequencies of light. The apparent color of an object depends on the wavelength of the light that it reflects. In white, or normal light, an opaque object that reflects all wavelengths appears white and one that absorbs all wavelengths appears black." The Concise Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, Third Edition, Copyright © 1994, Columbia University Press. Hmmm "...absorbs all wavelengths...". That's food for thought.
Witches are often depicted wearing all black. During the "burning times" of the Inquisition between the 14th and 18th centuries, for safety's sake, the Craft practiced in secret. Members of a coven traveling to a gathering at night dressed in black to prevent being seen in the darkness. If I had to cook over a sooty fire, black would be my choice as well. By the way, black is not an easy dye to use for fabric. The church priests wore mostly black, too. They still do. Go figure!
My significant other is a witch.
An individual must decide for her/himself if the Craft is their personal path. Being initiated just because your significant other is a witch is not good enough reason and rarely works.
Searching for a path.
If you join the Craft because you need something to believe in might be a good enough reason. First, believe in yourself. Being totally involved is necessary. Being a witch is a way of life, a personal way of life.
I always knew I am a witch.
Well, well. Welcome back.

BACK TO THE BEGINNING!
If the following is too abstract for some, then take a good look around you. You are probably missing something.
What is real?
Let's say you are digging in your garden or traveling in the astral and you come across a little being glowing by a plant. As a witch you can request or demand (whichever you feel is appropriate) that the being show a true self. Now the being may vanish at that point and you can go about your endeavors. However, if communication follows this meeting, listen carefully and ask if your assistance is needed. Note: If you've gotten this far. It's real. Then again, should the being be dark, well, as my granddaughter says, "Dah," demand that it leave instantly.
Are we who and what we think we are?
As long as we allow ourselves to be
Are we truly perceiving, or, are we perceiving the truth?
Truth is something you know in your heart when you see it, read it, feel it, live it and not just because someone tells you so.
Are we so busy looking, we've forgotten how to see?
What we're looking at is not all there is or may not be as it seems. Witches are able to see more than the obvious depending on one's special ability. One witch sees auras, while another heals with a touch on a stranger's arm. Another witch catches a shadow out of the corner of her eye and, if she's quick enough, prevents an accident. Get the idea?
BASICS
Book of Shadows and the Oath
How you regard your own Book of Shadows and any oath you've taken is your business entirely - and, perhaps, that of your high priestess'. Any solitary or coven witch who has not taken an oath is, with conscience, free to divulge all or part of their personal Book of Shadows. Today you even have access to any number of published works - print or on the web. How authentic these sources are is, well, subject to interpretation.
